The annual club business meeting will take place at Rock Bottom brewery in Minneapolis. This is the meeting where we select club leadership for the next year in addition to covering other busi ness items. This is a perfect opportunity to step up and help with a small or large part of the club operation and leadership!

Tuesday\, March 6th\, please come to Summi t Brewery beginning at 5:30. We'll have socializing until 6:30\, and the < strong>club is providing pizza. Summit's amazing beers will be av ailable for purchase\, and please remember to tip ridiculously well! Homem ade beverages are welcome.

At 6:30 we will have our 2018 busi ness meeting\, which includes a treasurer's report and election of board members. The offices of president\, vice-president\, treasurer\, an d secretary are all open\, as are two\, two-year term at-large positions. Please let president John Longballa know of your interest in running for a position. The club LOVES having new faces and ideas on the board\, and the re are current board members who are ready to step aside.

At 7:00 we will have an off-flavor seminar\, wherein we use a Siebel Institute Flavor kit to doctor some lighter Summit beer. Your pre-seminar study assignment is to familiarize yourself with the BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) Beer Faults information.

At the conclusion of the off-flavor seminar\, there will be a tour of Summit. We likely need to lea ve the taproom by 9:00.

There is a good chance that the new club-logo pint glasses will be available in time for this meeting! Each member in g ood standing will receive one free glass.

Bring out your best homebrewed beer\, mead \, and cider for the 9th annual MHBA Homebrew Review\, taking place at Allo y Brewing Company! This is a closed event for MHBA members\, family\, and f riends\, and the taproom (which is normally closed on Tuesdays) will be ope n JUST FOR US! This is a great event to bring a friend who is contemplating homebrewing or joining the MHBA.

Join the Minnesota Home Brewers Associatio n at Liftbridge on Saturday\, May 5th!

Each year\, the American Homeb rewing Association promotes “Big Brew Day” to get as many people as possibl e from around the world to brew beer at the same time. To join in on the fu n\, Lift Bridge is inviting 30 homebrewers to Stillwater brewhouse to brew a batch of honey lager together. Those who register beforehand will be able to take home a sweet deal—five gallons of wort to ferment\, brewed by head brewer Mike Connelly. For the first time since time began\, the annual Holiday Potluck WON'T be at the CSPS Hall\, but rat her will be at Summit's training facility in Summit's newer building behind the main brewery. The kind folks at the CSPS Hall were wonderful to our c lub for decades\, but of late have understandably had to charge us rates cl oser to what everyone else pays. Those rates mean that we really can't use the CSPS Hall on a Friday or Saturday\, and even the Sunday rate we've pai d for the holiday party the past two years has become too much to reasonabl y bear.

Instead\, bring your delicious homemade potluck items and hom emade beverages to Summit on Saturday\, December 8th. Beg inning at 5:30 there will be a social hour with live music . The potluck will begin at 6:30\, and the live music continues u ntil 7:30. We’re planning for this to be an outdoor eve nt\, but if mother nature turns sour then there will be a large event space available to move to in doors.
Starting at 11am on Saturday\, April 1 7th you’ll be able to sample your fellow home brewers libations and have th em sample yours! We’ll have tables set up for anyone willing to pour and sh ow off their latest\, greatest (or even most questionable) fermented bevera ge. Feel free to bring as much or as little as you'd like\; bottles\, can\, or kegs.
This is an excellent opportunity to get advice from seasoned brewers and to also get ideas on what to brew next! We’ll be giving away d oor prizes as well as voting for our favorite home brewed beverage — so you won’t want to miss it. Hope to see you there!

You bring a tent or camping trailer\, beer\, food\, beer\, chairs\, be er\, yard games\, beer\, acoustic instruments (no amplified music allowed)\ , well-behaved dogs\, mead\, a special sour beer for the Saturday Sour Hour \, homebrew for the informal Saturday competition\, cider\, something for t he morning Bloody Bars\, and beer. There is no electric or running water\, but the PHC will bring some water\, and there is a large picnic shelter and two permanent outhouses. Cass Lake is just a few steps down the hill from the remote camping area\, which we have to ourselves. The space is very sha ded. Jockey boxes will be available for kegs. The road in to the site is gr eat for kids on bikes\, and there is a great paved bike trail a few miles f rom the campsite.
At night\, the camp chairs go around t he fire\, and then the acoustic instruments and special beverages come out to play. Folks show off their beverage finds by passing them around the rin g\, with each person taking a small taste. Bring many glasses to the fire!< /div>

Come for one night\, two nights\, or three! Open to any homebrewer and their family. Loosely-structured weekend of sharing beer around the fire. We have rented the two pavilions and the entire 26-ac re campground\, located in a remote area right on the shore of Cass Lake.
Saturday's festivities include a fun club vs. club homebrew competitio n and a Sour Hour (bring your homebrew and open up your cellar – these are the people that you want to share with!)\, complete with trumpet fanfare. T he MHBA will provide the Saturday evening feast.
Tents and small camp ers welcome. Well-behaved dogs and acoustic instruments also welcome (no ra dios or amplified music\, please). You must let John Longballa know you're attending. The cost depends a bit on the meal\, but should be around $30/ad ult\; kids are free.
Water is available onsite\, with pit toilets tha t Jim Longvaala has volunteered to clean.

You can start showing up at around 8-9am. There will be p eople there starting at 8am.
Water (including hot water for brewing) w ill be available for use. There will be outlets and drainage as well.

For those that signe d up for the Wort Share:
Wort will be dispersed around 2/2:30 - so ple ase have a 5 Gallon fermentation vessel available to move wort into.
