2018 Homebrew Review at Alloy Brewing

Event Details

Bring out your best homebrewed beer, mead, and cider for the 9th annual MHBA Homebrew Review, taking place at Alloy Brewing Company! This is a closed event for MHBA members, family, and friends, and the taproom (which is normally closed on Tuesdays) will be open JUST FOR US! This is a great event to bring a friend who is contemplating homebrewing or joining the MHBA.

During the event, we can help you with your membership. The first 50 MHBA members in good standing will receive an Alloy Brewing drink token! The new, members-only club logo pint glasses should be available at this event.

We have lots of fun planned:

  • Homebrew Share – Bring in your creations and share with others. You can bring bottles, growlers, or kegs—any amount, but try to bring enough so you can share. If you are new member or thinking about joining, I GUARANTEE that some current members will introduce themselves and pour you a beverage! The club jockey box will be on hand if you have only kegs.
  • Members Choice Competition – Club members will vote to see who has crafted the best tasting homebrews, with awards for Members Choice Beer and another for Members Choice Mead/Cider. Prizes Galore!!!
  • Pay It Forward Presentation by Josh Janos – Homebrewer Josh Janos is using his passion of brewing beer as a means to pay it forward through Good Company Brewing, an online charitable giving platform for homebrewers and craft beer drinkers, to give to charities of their choice. For more info visit Good Company Brewing’s Blog
  • Homebrew Guru – A lot of our club members are amazing brewers and expert BJCP judges. If you are looking for hints to bring your homebrew up a notch, get rid of that lingering off-flavor or just want to see how your creation measures up to a BJCP style, bring in your homebrew and chat with a Homebrew Guru.
The club will be providing some snacks, but plan to bring in whatever you like to enjoy for dinner. The brewery taproom also has menus for most local restaurant and pizza delivery options to the brewery on-site. So, if the urge to get some tasty pizza with your IPA or mead strikes, you will have options at your fingertips.
